In the past, the Flemish Government and social partners concluded inteprofessional agreements in the framework of “workable work” in order to keep people more sustainable, quality and longer in their careers. This contract was awarded to Mapwave from this interprofessional constellation, with Europe WSE as the point of contact.
A tool that calculates the financial ROI of initiatives around workable work.
Challenge
Research shows that (smaller) companies are often reluctant to invest in workable work because of the lack of a clear, quantifiable financial “return. There was a demonstrable need for a tool that could estimate the Return on Investment (ROI) of work-ready initiatives for different business types from different industries.
This tool was to be useful not only to HR staff and executives within companies, but also to intermediaries such as sector consultants and union representatives to effectively promote workable work.
Our approach
We implemented an intensive two-year plan to develop a digital ROI tool. This process consisted of several successive phases:
- Exploration Phase:
Extensive literature review and discussions with professors and subject matter experts to establish a solid foundation for the tool. - Development Phase:
Continuous consultation with the experts while Purple Panda was engaged as a leading creative company to develop a user-friendly and robust tool. - Testing phase:
The tool was tested by stakeholders in several phases:
First, sector consultants tested the first version of the tool.
Afterwards, a wide range of SMEs from various sectors participated in testing.
This methodical approach ensured that the tool was not only evidence-based, but also widely applicable within various business environments.
Results
An intuitive tool built into a website that is freely accessible to anyone who wants to simulate the financial ROI of workable work in their own organization.
